We will give anything a go and it is rare to find a pair of headphones that cannot be moded or airbrushed but.... here are some of our favorites and the reasons why.
I will start by covering the least expensive options..
The Sony MDR-V500DJ - They are small and lightweight with very crisp mids and highs. They have the same swivel hinges as the MDR-V700 so are comfortable in any position and are great for one ear monitoring. They are ideal for iPod type use and bedroom DJs but probably don't block out enough external noise for use in clubs. These start from £90 GBP.
The ZOMO HD 1200 - These are brand new and very good value for money. They are large and block out quite a lot of external noise, have a detachable cable and can come as standard with white, black or orange pads. These headphones have a lot of bass which is good for some people but not if you mix on the mids. These start from £100.
If you want the best sound quality without going crazy on the price the most popular headphones are the HD25 by Sennheiser. They have been used for many years in studios and for sound engineering and now have become the industry standard DJ headphone. They are very light but also durable and all the pieces are user servicable so easy to repair if you break them. These start from £180 GBP.
If you would like any more details on any of our headphones just ask.
