UV LED Custom Pioneer HDJ-2000 Pro DJ Headphones

Posted by JFunk on 12/04/2012 in Technologys |

Here are some fun ones we have recently finished. They have a ring of super bright UV LEDs around the earcup with laser cut blue plastic to cove them up they cost more than I thought to make as the laser cut bits cost £20 to get made but the effect is really good.

Sennheiser Masters of sound Microphone

Posted by JFunk on 07/04/2012 in Special projects |

Here is the result of a bit of an experiment. A while ago sennheiser were kind enough to lend us a microphone to try airbrushing. To be honest the hardest bit was getting the thing apart without damaging it.
I gave it several coats of glow in the dark aqua then did the design over that so the glow shows through in the bits that were masked off

Aztec Gold Uber HD25-1 with loads of experimental mods

Posted by JFunk on 16/01/2012 in Pro DJ Headphones, Technologys |

Finally finished the Uber version of the HD25-1 mk ii. I have been working on them for a few months and they are just about there now.

These ones have 24ct gold gilding on them just for kicks. As you can see from the pick they are fitted with an audiophile grade cable.

Here are some of the mods that have been done. ( DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME UNLESS YOU HARE HIGHLY SKILLED AND HAVE A DELICATE TOUCH ) We can perform any of these mods for you for a sensible price

I have 24ct gold plated the springs in the sockets and gold plated some Cardas HPSC connectors to match – These have then been fitted to one of the hand braided audiophile cables and matched up with a neutrik jack

Mass loaded driver enclosure. I have added a little extra mass to the driver enclosure using lead strips and added some bituminous vibration damping material round that. This ensures more of the energy from the diaphragm goes into producing sound rather than vibrating the casing

On the back of the driver there is a similar arrangement and the bass ports are partially covered. The mass loading gives you more accurate bass but also more bass in general so the bass ports have been reduced to lessen the bass wilst keeping the extra detail

The pads have been washed to make them softer and the foam disc has been removed ( i like the extra bit if treble you get )

Inside the cup I have replaced the standard damping material which is a felt disc with more high end damping material – this helps them block out even more noise and makes the headphones sound more open – they sound less boomy and more like open back headphones.

New Toys ;) HD25-1 Headtorch

Posted by JFunk on 16/01/2012 in Technologys |

We have some new toys now available… These HD25 head torches. They attach using a magnetized cable clam and can be pulled off to help you find things in the bottom of your record box then re-attach to help you read the dials on the mixer and of course you get to look like a borg.

They can be pointed in any direction and can be attached to either or both sides. The should be on our web shop by the end of the week

First pair of V-Modas for a while

Posted by JFunk on 05/01/2012 in Uncategorized |

Here is a pair of white V-Moda Crossfade LP with an ROTM design and chrome panels. I have also added a layer of sound absorbing material to the inside to tighten the bass a little and block out more noise ( my only two complaints about these. ) this was the first pair that I fully dismantled and I am really impressed with the build quality. I gave them a bit of a hard time when I first reviewed them but they are well put together and with a few tweaks they sound much better

Nano Carbon Shielded HD650 Cable

Posted by JFunk on 04/01/2012 in Special projects |

I have been working on a few Audiophile projects. This cable has loads of cool technologies in it. It has silver plated OFC copper cable which gives super clear signal and lower resistance which is teflon coated. Teflon is one of the best dielectrics and helps cut down on crosstalk from induction. The 4 cables are braided as it further reduces induction which you get when the cables run parallel to each other. Then the 4 internal cables are shielded with new carbon infused monofilament cable braid. This screens out EMI and RFI so you dont get interference from radio and electromagnetic sources like phones, wifi and motors. It has Cardas HPSC rhodium plated connectors and a Pro grade Neutrik Jack

Been taking a lot of time on these

Posted by JFunk on 04/01/2012 in Pro DJ Headphones |

These two took ages but it is nice to get to show off some of my airbrush skills.

These first ones have a riveted metal look quite an easy effect but tricky on such a small scale

And these are one of my favorite ones I have done recently. As you can see they have a classic horror theme. I had to make the arm a bit disproportionate to make it fit properly but it is not too noticeable. I love the blod splatter effect. It came out much better than on the wolverine ones

Here are the last batch from 2011

Posted by JFunk on 04/01/2012 in Pro DJ Headphones |

These first ones have a space invader done in glowing pigment – I am just working on a matching pair with a blue glowing packman gohst.

Something footbally

I am really liking the Adidas HD25 pads and now we have a matching cable wrap kit

These were really fun to do. As you can imagine they took a long time to make… I used a 4 layer stencil and then filled in the detail with a technical drawing pen. They are also UV reactive.

Again … Loved making these. Cookie monster and Animal theme for someone with a serious cookie habit 😉

These were done using a new technique. First of all they were done with black decks over a bright white background then I Laid chrome over the top so from some angles they look mirrored and other angles you can see the decks. Then I stuck the logo over the top with a glow in the dark outline

Some more Adidas Very originals

Nice to do some classic V700s These ones have all different UV colours so look mad under black light
