HULK inspired Custom Sennheiser HD25-1 mk ii – Feel the rage

Posted by JFunk on 09/06/2012 in Pro DJ Headphones |

These ones were really fun to do as it is always fun to do a little freehand work. The outline for the design was printed on to a set of white earcups then the shading and flames were filled in by hand – they look pretty awesome in my humble opinion and I hope to try this technique again in the future on some other designs.

Roy Lichtenstein inspired Sony MDR-V700DJ

Posted by JFunk on 01/06/2012 in Pro DJ Headphones, Special projects |

These were done as a special project for DJ Tim Lyall – He purchased one of our first pairs of custom headphones so we made sure we cam up with something very special for him

These were inspired by the paintings of Roy Lichtenstein – I had wanted to do a pop atr one for ages so this was an ideal opportunity.  To make them I mad a 4 layer mask and then used a pen to doo the line work – they came out really nicely – I love the block colours

Rasta Music Sennheiser HD25-1 II

Posted by JFunk on 03/05/2012 in Pro DJ Headphones, Special projects |

Here are some more custom Sennheiser HD25-1 II – These were quite tricky to do as you can imagine as there is quite a lot of detail. It was quite fun though as we got to try out a new technique.

The texture in the background Rasta Flag was done by painting the headphones jet black then clearcoating it. We then sprayed a wet coat of bright white and then dabbed it off with a scrunched up plastic bag to leave a black and white random texture. Then we sprayed the flag over the top using transparent colours so the texture showed through. It was the first time we tried this and it worked out really well.

New Girl DJ mini site

Posted by JFunk on 12/04/2012 in Special projects |

We think that Girl DJs are a little left out with most of the top pro DJ headphones being quite masculine looking. We can obviously help with that and are working on a mini site for people who want sexy headphones that can match your outfit 😉

Check it out and let us know want you think

3 Custom pairs for Peter Lutz

Posted by JFunk on 12/04/2012 in Pro DJ Headphones |

Well… Peter Luts ( http://www.peterluts.com/#/home ) has been super greedy and commissioned 3 custom pairs of Sennheiser HD25-1 . I really like the design and colour scheme on these. The finished models also had a blue cable to match the blue Adidas pads on them

New Audiophile cable for the HD650 HD600 HD580 HD414 HD25sp and many more HD range headphones

Posted by JFunk on 12/04/2012 in Technologys |
The cable is made from teflon coated SPC silver plated OFC copper shielded with conductive nano carbon infused monofilament braid. They use cardas HPSC connectors and a raen / neutrik straight 3.5mm ( 1/8″ ) but you can have different jack options if requited like 1/4″ , XLR or any other standard connector.
We have endeavoured to make sure this cable gives the best and cleanest signal possible for a sensible price and have had a lot of really good feedback about our cables.
Here comes the science bit

Silver Plated OFC cable to decreases resistance and give more detail vs standard copper

Teflon dielectric coating to help stop crosstalk between left and right channels

Litz braided by hand from the jack to the Y split and then twisted pair to the HPSC connectors to further reduce crosstalk and inductance without straining the cable during production

Soldered with silver solder - To keep the signal path as clean as possible. The cable is soldered directly to the Cardas HPSC connectors rather than splicing on the original sennheiser connectors which is done on some of the cheaper ones on ebay.

Rhodium plated HPSC connectors - this stops corrosion, gives a great connection and rhodium is much harder than gold so less likely to ware off.

Gold plated solid brass jack for quality and durability

Carbon infused mono-filament shielding end to end to screen out RFI and EMI interference and because it sounds cool :) This stops radio and magnetic interference from other electrical items and things like mobile phones
